Metal Wire Sculptor
Adam Holzgrove‘s creations started as a pasttime when he was a boy during his father’s career and develped into a healthy mindset.
Adam grew up in a construction family and as a young boy, he kept himself entertained by using the scrap metal wiring and created rings. Later in life when COVID-19 hit and people stayed at home, he came across a spool of wire in his basement. He had time on his hands, so he started twisting the wire into elegant trees.
Today, he is using multiple colors and a variety of shapes in his artistic creations. Adam says it’s therapeutic for him as sometimes his mind gets going way too fast and focusing on his hands and bending wire slows his mind down and allows him to think more clearly.
Adams trees have unfolded into a variety of enhanced displays. The bases of the trees come in an array of designs like wood bowls, plant pots, jewelry boxes, picture frames and even bison skulls.
Holzgrove is a 2009 graduate of Detroit Lakes High School. He was an artist in resident at the Washington Square Mall in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota in April 2022. Holzgrove is on Instagram at Twisted Metal Designs. His artwork is on display at Gallery 4 Fargo, 115 Roberts St. N.
