Ceramicist
Giulio Angotti
Giulio Angotti is a ceramicist and photographer whose work bridges functional pottery, sculptural form, and alternative photographic processes. Raised in Moorhead, MN, he is currently completing his bachelor’s degree in Studio Art, focusing on ceramics at Minnesota State University Moorhead while also pursuing photography at Concordia College.
His work focuses on self-reflection in our ever changing world. Working with both wheel-throwing and handbuilding, he creates vessels and sculptural pieces that investigate form, function, and surface. During this time, he is utilizing various firing styles and surface finishes for his pots and sculptures while working towards his upcoming BFA show this spring.
Alongside ceramics, Angotti works in both digital and film photography, experimenting with traditional and alternative printing processes including silver gelatin, cyanotype, and inkjet. Across media, his practice is grounded in material exploration and a curiosity about how objects and images can affect our daily life.
