Liz Radcliffe Walberg is known for her stylistic wall collage art and metal wall art.
Liz is a self-taught artist who gathers inspiration from nature and the world around her. She explores the use of multi-media to create artwork that captures a sense of scenery. She uses a style of fabricating steel, copper, brass and solder to depict shapes and feelings of nature. Each piece features patina layers on steel, hand-formed copper and solder work used as a drawing medium. Her hope is to draw the viewer in to enjoy the way she uses pieces of nature. Perhaps to invoke a memory of a favorite prairie landscape, city scene or a connection with the beauty of the world around us.
When she first started collage work, Liz designed very simplistic botanical art. As her style expanded, she found by intertwining botanicals and metal with other media captured the essence of them in a more colorful way.
Liz begins most of her collage pieces by painting acrylic backgrounds, tooling pure metal and/or using textured papers. Botanicals or metal pieces are the focal points on which fibers, other metals, beads, layered paints and other found objects are layered in a whimsical and sometimes soulful way to show her favorite prairie landscapes and city scenes.
