Polymer Clay, Encaustic and Ink Drawings
Nancy Baier
Originally from Michigan, Nancy has been a Fargo resident since 2017. She became involved in the art world here in Fargo soon after, participating as a guest artist in art markets at Apt downtown, and later Aptitude, creative art studios at West Acres. Nancy was accepted as a supporting artist at Gallery 4 in 2019. In October 2022, she was introduced as a premier member.
With endless inspiration, the theme of Nature is prominent in her artwork. At a young age, pen and ink was her medium of choice, at times with watercolor or colored pencils. Professionally, she worked as a technical illustrator for many years. Always exploring a variety of mediums, she also paints with encaustic wax and has many prints of past work available at Gallery 4. In 2015, Nancy first became interested in polymer clay artwork, appreciating its versatility, and the wide range of possibilities in techniques, textures, and dimension. Her next challenge is to incorporate polymer clay with other mediums. Although Nancy enjoys creating smaller works and jewelry, her current focus is on wall pieces, exploring new techniques, and working on a larger scale.
